You do not have to read this CRA Moment to know that the coronavirus is causing major upheaval as entire countries around the world are being quarantined. At the same time, there is little need to mention much regarding all the events, and schools cancelled, while the stock market is on a major roller coaster. Is what has come upon not only the U.S. but most every country and nation in the world, true, or ‘cooked’ up as a sinister plan of some? Honestly, we don’t totally know. What we can deduce with most accuracy is that America, as well as many other countries have been brought to a major standstill as fear and panic have settled upon Americans across the nation. Stores are stripped bare of essentials such as bottled water, toilet paper, bread, cereal, while many stores and businesses are either closed completely or only accessed by way of drive through to pick up items.
My question is, “Are you standing strong?” The awesome voices of the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir encourage us with the song written by Kurt Carr, called, “I Never Lost My Praise.” The words are, “I’ve lost some good friends along life’s way, some loved ones departed in Heaven to stay, but thank God I didn’t lose everything. I’ve lost faith in people who said they cared, in the time of my crisis they were never there, but in my disappointment, in my season of pain, one thing never wavered, one thing never changed, I never lost my hope, I never lost my joy. I never lost my faith, but most of all I never lost my praise. My praise is still here! I’ve let some blessings slip away, which I lost my focus and went astray, but thank God, I didn’t lose everything. I lost possessions that were so dear, I lost some battles by walking in fear, but in the midst of my struggles, in my season of pain, one thing never wavered, one thing never changed. I never lost my hope, I never lost my joy, I never lost my faith. But most of all, I never lost my praise, my praise’s still here.” (Type in “I Never Lost My Praise” by the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir on You Tube, listen and be blessed).
The question for you and me today is, ‘Are You Standing Strong?’ We all look so nice, we look so pretty, we can smile sooooooo big…..but are we really feeling good about things, about life as it is right now, or have we allowed panic to take over? Only you…only am I…able to answer that question honestly. I just returned from a quick run to pick up a can of shaving cream from the nearby store, and when I passed several coming out of the store they said; “Good morning! How you doing?” My response was, “I’m doing good, thank you!” It was then as if I had heard this voice inside ask, ‘Do you really feel you’re doing good?’ However, in total honesty I could answer “Yes! Not because of who I am, but Who God is in me!” That’s not written with any sense of pride; it’s just simply true! You and I as believers can stand with total dependence upon His Word such as Isaiah 53:5, “With His stripes we are healed.” Lk. 4:40, “He laid His hands on every one of them, and healed them.” James 5:15 reads, “The prayer of faith shall save the sick.” Whether by the direct hand of Almighty God, or through ways of vaccines and cures available today that God has blessed mankind with discovering, our ultimate trust and thanks should be to God for His marvelous promises in His word for healing. Well over 100 powerful verses!
We are not to be surprised, shocked, dismayed, or filled with fear, because we were warned of days such as these that were to come. Jesus spoke words in Matthew 24:4-8: “Don’t let anyone mislead you….you will hear of wars and threats of wars, but don’t panic. Yes, these things must take place but the end won’t follow immediately. Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in many parts of the world. But all this is only the first of the birth pains, with more to come.”
Luke then records these words of Jesus in his writing of Luke 12:40, “You must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when least expected.” Until then stand strong! Trust in Him and His Word!
Blessings, Psalm 20:7 Dale & Jeannie
