Fear or Faith?!

I urge you to NOT consider the title of this CRA Moment as one chosen to sound as if I belittle or shed doubt on the Coronavirus that has affected in some way, most all of the world, and its downturn on today’s economy.  We too at CRA Ministries are already in certain ways feeling the impact that it is making on us as well as others.  At the same time, I ask a question that each of us must answer to ourselves regarding what we are facing, will we live by “Fear” or will be choose to live by “Faith?”

At the recent CRA Bible Study I read this scripture as part of our study.  From Heb. 6:12 we read, “Then you will not become spiritually dull & indifferent.  Instead, you will follow the example of those who are going to inherit God’s promises because of their faith and endurance” (NLT).

Living by faith means to continue, to persevere, to steady on a course, and, to NOT GROW WEARY in doing what is right in our individual ways, and not giving in to fear!  It’s good to remind oneself to remember that it is a truth that tough times won’t last forever!  This season of adversity that is affecting all of us at this moment, in one way or another, that we are to have faith to KNOW that it will end!  And when it does, I believe we will look back and see that we have grown from the challenges behind and to be ready and able to face the next challenge that will lie ahead.  For the ‘next’ challenge will come sooner or later!

“As an example of suffering and patience, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. Behold, we consider those blessed who remained steadfast.  You have heard of the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful” (James 5:10,11 ESV).

Patience is not just putting up with things!  Patience means to stay steady, and to believe God’s promises while you walk and maneuver through these present days.  The promises we find in God’s Word are that we will “reap if we do not faint.” It’s normal and not unusual at all to often find there to be a time of waiting and testing while we believe the promises of God, however, soon we will find that we will have come through stronger than when we first began.

Whatever challenges God allows to come into our lives are ones that we can overcome.  You and God are a majority!  He has a plan, and He gives us our roles all through the challenges we face.  YES…Even THROUGH the Coronavirus!  Our job is to ‘play our part’ as best we can and leave the rest to Him.  David said in the 23rd Psalm and verse 4, “Lord, even when your path takes me through (notice that word ‘through.’  He will take you through, not leave you in…but through!) the valley of deepest darkness, therefore fear will never conquer me, for You already have!  You remain close to me and lead me through it all the way.  Your authority is my strength and my peace.  The comfort of Your love takes away my fear” (Passion Ver.)

I Peter 5:7 in the Passion Version reads, “Pour out all your worries and stress upon Him and leave them there, for He always tenderly cares for you.”  Jeannie and I pray this prayer over every part of your life during these ‘stretching’ times.  “Dear Lord, remind every person reading this week’s CRA Moment, that You alone are their help and strength each and every day.  And Father we thank You that You are bigger than any Coronavirus or any other thing that may try to come their way. Therefore, help and encourage them in their faith, to not fear, but to cast all their cares upon You, because You truly do care for them.  In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Blessings, Psalm 20:7 Dale & Jeannie
