Experiencing problems and troubles are a universal issue for all of us. The good news is that God has promised He would walk ‘through’ those times with us! The emphasis on “through,” means every difficult time we encounter. He has promised to not leave us in the middle of the fire, flood, or storms of life, as He’ll be there “through” whatever befalls us as His children!
And that means whatever problems blindside us, as well as all issues from wrong past choices we no doubt have made. This morning I read an article by John Aderer, with the title, “Hindsight is 20/20: 4 out of 10 Adults Regret Their Life Choices.” He states, “According to a survey of 2,000 British adults…4 out of 10 people regret how they have lived their lives so far. Spending too much time at work and not traveling enough were among biggest regrets,” although that is pretty difficult with what state governors and mayors have implemented. He went on to state, “All of us will die one day—none of us know when that time might come, and none of us want to have regrets about what we’ve missed out on or how we’ve lived our lives.”
Leaving behind a positive legacy is a key concern for many, 2/3rd’s of those surveyed were concerned about how their children will remember them, and therefore, wanting to use their remaining years to creating lasting, positive family memories. However, “Despite most people’s desire to be remembered in a positive light, most say they expect to be remembered as moody and anxious.” Then he added, “They regret wasting so much time watching television or staring at their smartphone.” (A new survey of 2,000 adults found that a whopping 88% are so-called “zombie eaters” who stare at some type of screen while eating.)
I believe Isaiah 43:2-3 gives us the help we need. “When you pass through the deep, stormy sea, you can count on Me to be there with you. When you pass through raging rivers, you will not drown. When you walk through fiery flames, you will not be burned; the flames will not harm you, for I am your Savior, your mighty God, the Holy One of Israel!”
In the USA, we are finding ourselves in a place where the Lord has NOT abandoned America. However, I do believe He has taken a step back, and may be saying: “You think you can run your country; handle your problems; fight the onslaught of fiery darts being brought on by the devil, all by yourself? Watch what can happen if I step away for even a moment in time allowing you to try and run things without My help!”
Verses 13 & 14 go on to say, “Before the day was, I am, and there is no one who can deliver out of My hand; I work, and who will reverse it?”
In Proverbs 3:6 we read, “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.” Then, as life gets more and more challenging, keep serving God with everything you have, any way you can … on every path, and, every road in life you’re on. Keep the Main Thing, the Main Thing …. Serving God!
