Maybe you’re feeling like Elijah when running from the threat of evil Jezebel hid by the stream, and the next thing he knew was it too dried up. The dwindling creek can so easily be a picture of how many feel today, as if their yesterdays have dried up leaving you to ask will any good ever return. Maybe it’s discouragement due to what you’re hearing about the way things are taking place today in America. Thousands of people feel defeated and overwhelmed, wondering if the sun will ever shine again. Will it? Will a sense of calm ever return? Will there ever be another day without fighting one another, tearing each one another apart by way of words and actions? The answer is, YES!
I recently read a story of a young lady from India. You may know that most all marriages in Indian culture since the fourth century are “arranged” marriages. Many consider the practice a central fabric of Indian society, reinforcing the social, economic, geographic, and the historic significance of India. One young lady who was to be married to her fiancé received his letter that he had written to acquaint her with him prior to the wedding. When the bride-to-be received the letter she refused to open it, choosing rather to return it to him unopened. Writing on the back of the envelop she wrote; “When we’re born, we don’t get to choose our mother, father, brothers, or sisters, yet we learn to live with them and love them. So it is with a husband and wife.” When you endeavor to love someone unconditionally the way Christ loves you, you experience joy and fulfillment throughout your days. Oh! That’s interesting! Just maybe that’s what Jesus meant when He said to them the words in John 15:12: “This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have you.”
We’re reminded in I John 4:16 that just as we are commanded to “love one another” also said, “And so we know and rely on the love of God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.” And “Though the mountain be shaken and the hills be removed, yet My unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor My covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, Who has compassion on you.”
My friends; stand firm! Hold on to your faith! Don’t give up or in…the Red sea is going to open! No matter that 10 spies came back with a negative report after scouting out the land of Promise God had promised, 2…Joshua and Caleb said, “We are more than able to take the land!” Although the king threw the three Hebrew children in the furnace…he looked to see, then said, “Did we not throw three into the furnace, and I now see four walking around.” God has not turned America (nor the world) over to the devil and his cohorts! I’ve gone on record as saying before that God has never lost a battle to the devil in the Old or the New Testament, and he’s not about to lose one now!
The Passion translation reads, “Here He comes! The Commander! The mighty Lord of Angel Armies is on our side. The God of Jacob fights for us! Everyone look! Come and see the breathtaking wonder of our God. For He brings both ruin and revival.” (Ps. 46:7)
And when our President is placed again for another four-year term, you will see revival in our land…in the church, in the work place, in homes across America, as well as around the world, in lives of those who are discouraged, and living in fear!
America may no longer be referred to as the United States of America, but may be the Republic of the United States of America. Or it may be called some other form of freedom loving, and people-loving inhabitants of the earth…but the bottom line is that this nation and its influence on the entire world is secure for “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble”(Ps. 46:1). “The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress”
Blessings, Psalm 20:7 Dale & Jeannie
