One of the biggest things we see lacking in today’s world … business; media; school; church; home is ‘Truth Telling!’ Well, what I really mean is we see the LACK of Truth Telling. Sadly, it has become so customary for people to tell ‘a little white lie’ or have you heard it said, “We will just tell them this when we are around them” – or tell them Yes when in fact the answer is NO – or in order for you to get what you want … from being treated at a medical facility, to telling your employer, a friend, or family member something ‘they’ want to hear for the betterment of a momentary discussion rather than having to stand up for your decision.
Ummm, I’m guessing some reading this aren’t ‘feeling like you’re really lovin’ what is being written!’ Because, it causes you to stand up to Truth that perhaps has been skirted … ‘For the better good, they say’!
There IS no better good in something other than complete truth! Our example is Jesus – HE IS TRUTH! And if we abide in Him and He in us THEN we have NO RIGHT to do anything but be TRUTHFUL! John 14:6 says, “Jesus said, I am the way the truth and the life…..!”
SO, where is the breakdown? There ARE no such things as ‘white lies’ acceptable in God’s Word or His Plan. IF we want God’s ultimate provision and protection in and over our lives … then we must walk in Truth – because HE IS Truth! Might I add, it’s the Truth of God’s Word in ALL areas NOT just the ones we decide are best.
Within our own family the neighborhood bully (aka…enemy) has tried to kind-a knock some of us around the soccer field a bit. (some colloquialism in that line) One of our sons was recently told by someone in the medical field, “Don’t tell them ‘THAT’ – tell them ‘THIS’!” Our son’s reply was, “NO, why would I say that – It’s Not True?!” The response back from the other person was “because you won’t get what is needed for you if you don’t.” I am asking each of us…How far have we acquiesced in our moral absolutes that we side step Truth – for the betterment (so we think) of us?! Truth Tellers will be targeted by the enemy of our soul – because he is ultimately trying to usurp the position of our Messiah, our soon coming King – Jesus Christ WHO IS TRUTH!
Seems like I recall reading many times about Peter or Judas responding to Jesus. “No Lord, NOT ME – I wouldn’t deny You …. I’m with You! – I wouldn’t betray You!” REALLY?!
We are all being subjected to a system – to un-godly principles – to unrighteous rulings being made in our schools, in our work place, in our government and sadly in many of our churches. This ought not to be. It is time my friends to “Choose This Day Whom You Will Serve … As For Me And My House, We Will Serve The Lord!” Joshua 24:15
Start THIS MOMENT – to follow what Matthew 5:37 says, “But let your ‘Yes Be Yes’ and Your ‘No, No’. For whatever is more than these is from the evil one!” WOW, did you get that –un-truthfulness; a white lie or whatever you choose to call it is ‘From the Evil One!’ THAT – my friend should more than settle it from this point forward. For according to Philippians 4:13 we are told “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength!” Decide today to be A Truth Teller! –Jeannie
