Is God Speaking…?!

Is God speaking to us today by way of modern day prophets?  Does He still have a plan and purpose for America, or, are we finished as a nation?  The New Testament helps us see there are three primary lists of spiritual gifts, and the prophetic is mentioned in all three lists!  Romans 12 and 1^st Corinthians 12 refer to prophecy as one of the gifts dispersed throughout the Body of Christ.  At the same time, it is imperative to know there is a difference between prophesying and being called a prophet.  Paul wrote in Ephesians 4:11. “And He Himself (Jesus) gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors, (carriers–announcers) and teachers…”   This is referred to as the “Five-fold ministry” that each church is to have functioning in the body. Not one of the five are unnecessary

Prophecy is not to cause anyone to be fearful, but to enlighten and help all who read the Bible to better understand the time and season in which we live.  Let me add, nothing taking place on earth today has caught God by surprise!

Paul continues in verse 12 of his letter to the church in Ephesus (located in what today is Turkey) by telling what each of these five gifts are for in the church.  “For the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.”  The responsibility of today’s pastors; teachers, in the church is for the purpose of “edifying of the body of Christ.” Every believer is part of the “body” and it is those of us who are to be going out in our world to share the good news of the Gospel with those whom we have contact with. 

Our world is dark and growing darker, and as the return of Jesus draws nearer, we see the world increasingly becoming worse and worse each day as many are being deceived in to as well as being driven by demonic deception!

At the same time, I believe we are about to see the greatest harvest in all of history of people of all colors, backgrounds, and creeds, turn from darkness into the light of Jesus.  Like the Israelites who saw wonders in the wilderness, we too have seen too much to turn back now.  For them, the leaks, cucumbers and garlic left behind in Egypt was enough to cause their flesh to want to return to captivity.  However, many of us are not willing to return to ‘what-once-was’ or ‘yesterday’s-normal!’  We are living in a day to take new territory, and maintain authority over it.  I believe God is speaking right now to His prophetic generation!  Isa. 46:10 reads, “Only I can tell you the FUTURE before it EVER HAPPENS.  Everything I plan WILL come to pass, for I do whatever I wish.”

This brings up my question first asked.  Are we to believe in modern day prophets?  Many pastors and church-attending people do believe there are those with a spiritual gift enabling them to help others as to what God is saying and what is taking place more specifically right now in our day.  I understand reasons some might be skeptical, as there are a number of ‘home-schooled-self-promoted’ individuals claiming to have a “prophetic voice.” I encourage you to evaluate what is being said to the Bible, which is to always be our guide.

One reason President Trump received so much support from the Christian community was largely due to several prophecies spoken … that following his election as President … have shown to be accurate!  One of the most talked about prophecies on You Tube, while virtually ignored by the media, is by the late Kim Clement.  In 2007, he prophesied in a service while at a church in Northern California.  He spoke: “There will be a praying president, not a religious one. For I will fool the people, says the Lord. I will fool the people.  Yes, I will, God says.  The one that is chosen shall go in and they shall say, ‘He has hot blood.’ For the Spirit of God says, yes, he may have hot blood, but he will bring the walls of protection on this country in a greater way and the economy of this country shall change rapidly, says the Lord of hosts.”

Before you choose what to believe, or not believe about prophets of today, hold off any decision until considering what the second half of this CRA Moment has to say about the 2020 election winners . . .  following today’s, “Is God Speaking…?!”
